The Miamisburg Historical Society is a volunteer organization dedicated to the collection and preservation of data, artifacts and memorabilia relating to the history of the Star City and Miami Township. The society invites interested persons to attend a variety of programs offered throughout the year including the Annual Picnic in the Park, the Annual Historic Homes Tour, Children's Summer Programs and Christmas at the Gebhart Tavern Museum.
The Daniel Gebhart Tavern Museum served as a gathering place for local residents and as a resting place for those traveling through the area from 1811 until the mid-1800's. Today the fully restored log tavern is home to a wide variety of artifacts and memorabilia relating to the history of the area. Research materials, including limited genealogy resources, are also available. The museum is located on the corner of Lock Street and Old Main Street in Miamisburg. Hours of operation are Sunday afternoons, June through September, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. or by apointment upon request.
